Tips for this trip
- Express minibuses along the Carretera a Masaya; they arrive at Parque San Miguel.
- Since July 2026 they leave from a temporary terminal on Pista UNAN, 300 m south of the Rigoberto López Pérez traffic lights, while the roadworks on Pista Héroes de la Insurrección are finished. City bus routes 106, 111, 117 and 168 stop there.
- The minibuses are signed “Casimiro Sotelo”, the new name of the UCA.
- Halfway they pass the entrance to Masaya Volcano National Park: sit near the front and tell the driver if you want to get off there.
